kuri is a satirical spy-training game that runs in your browser. You are a trainee at an intelligence academy. Every mission hands you a cover identity and one situation, and you pick the action your cover would take. Choose well and the cover holds. Slip, and you give off a tell.

Your exposure pool is nine lives. The academy's evaluator, the Handler, debriefs every mission in writing and is never impressed. Run the pool dry and the op is blown.

Everyone here is a cat. This is not discussed.

A training program holds:

  • Cover missions. One situation, a short list of plain actions, and a cover profile telling you who you are supposed to be. Every answer is graded: cover held, hairline tell, or cover cracked.
  • Suspect missions. Read three scenes, work out which suspect is the imposter, and accuse. Being wrong is instructive.
  • Toggles with consequences. A guardian for second chances, regeneration for clean streaks, an endless program, and a challenge timer that costs a life when it runs out.
  • A service record. Ranks, achievements, and an end-of-run report card you can save as an image.

Runs in the browser, nothing to install. Short sessions are fine; the program will still be here, and so will the Handler.

About this build. A prototype test build. It is a work in progress with some rough edges. The Handler already knows about them.
